*Some activites are canceled due to the pandemic. We advise you to inform yourself before going.*

Fall has come! And with it, the marvelous contrast of colours, the harvest season and plenty of Halloween activities. Let’s say goodbye to summer and hello to one of the most beautiful seasons of the year, during which we can appreciate Mother Nature’s delightful transition.

Take out your scarves from your closets and enjoy these autumn activities we thoroughly suggest. Here are our top activities this fall in the region of greater Saint-Hyacinthe.

From 6 : 30 PM to 8 PM, many Halloween-themed activities are to take place : pumpkin harvest, a night-time maze (don’t forget your flashlight!) and even samples of hot cocoa, muffins and soup!

To celebrate Halloween, do not miss Chouette à voir!’s event on Saturday, October 26th! This day is sure to be filled with activities and surprises : Halloween animation, make-up and jack-o’-lantern decoration during the day and, during the evening, why not go on a night-time safari in the forest while listening to myths and legends about birds of prey. Make sure to stay on your toes, however, as there will be a haunted trail on the site! Are you getting scared already?

Breathe the fresh outdoors air as it’s getting colder and colder and appreciate the colours of nature during a trek or a bike ride on the multifunctional and well-maintained trails of this urban park. You can also enjoy a warmer ambiance in the cottage situated right near the entrance.

Pick your own with family and friends

It is harvest season and the beginning of fall is the best moment to make provisions directly from local farmers. For example, you can pick your own zucchini and pumpkins at La Fille du Roy. The fun doesn’t stop there! Another classic fruit to pick is the apple, which is abundant at this time of year. We invite you to discover the vast variety of apples and fruits grown on Verger St-François orchard.

In our beautiful region, there are more than twenty local farmers who will be happy to welcome you on their farms. To know more about them, pick the DIRECT FARM SALES category in our TO DO section.

This magnificent European-style building is without a doubt the most well-known and most visited in the city and doubles as the perfect gourmet destination, bringing you the best of local products year-round. Nothing will come close to the freshness you will find there!

In addition to the greengrocers offering this season’s harvest, you can also get your fill of everything from cheese to sausage, fish, and even more.

Swimming in the pool

Yes! Swimming! It’s a bit chilly out, that’s for sure, but big and small alike can have fun in the indoor heated pools of the Centre Aquatique Desjardins. This modern infrastructure offers waterworks, a slide and even a larger pool for swimming lengths.

You can even relax a bit in the saunas, one wet and one dry. You will feel an incredible relief, both physical and psychological (it might even be better than meditation…).
